We’re absolutely delighted to have taken home the award for the Best Home Cinema (Budget £340,000 & Over) at this year’s CEDIA Awards. Showcasing the best projects in design, installation and integration, the prestigious event took place on 29th September at the British Museum and proved an opportunity to celebrate the ever-improving standards of our industry.

Awarded for our project creating Europe’s first residential IMAX, the installation was designed to meet our client’s brief of the ‘best cinema installation in the UK’. To be recognised at this level is a real honour and testament to the fantastic efforts put in by the entire team here at Cornflake.

The home cinema installation

The key challenge of this advanced and intricate build was adapting a technical system intended for a large environment to work within a residential installation. Built deep below ground, the three tiered 15-seat theatre features a 5.5m wide curved IMAX screen and movable frame, a Dual 4k projector and IMAX sound system to ensure sharp visuals and audio to match. No detail was overlooked on this installation, with the theatre being soundproof and featuring a quality equaliser and power amplifier to ensure the best quality result. Unlike a typical IMAX theatre, the installation was also designed to allow our client to enjoy gaming and karaoke functions in addition to the multimedia, Blu-ray, DVD and CD capabilities.

We’re thrilled to have been recognised in this year’s CEDIA Awards and would like to thank everyone involved for their hard work in making this installation possible.
